After bouncing around some of Vietnam’s more fast-paced spots, Cam Ranh and Nha Trang were the perfect places to slow down and soak up some sun. Whether you’re in the mood for a laid-back beach day or something a bit more social, this area has a bit of everything.
Where I Stayed

I spent a few days at Alma Resort in Cam Ranh, and wow—this place is stunning. The villas are super spacious, modern, and perfect if you’re looking to treat yourself for a bit. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but totally worth it for a little splurge.
That said, if you’re on a backpacker budget, Fuse Hostel in Nha Trang is a solid alternative. It has a social vibe, clean facilities, and a great location.
Things to Do
Honestly, I didn’t pack my days with activities here—this stop was all about relaxing. The beaches in both Cam Ranh and Nha Trang are really nice: clean sand, clear water, and not overly crowded. It’s a great place to hit reset, especially if you’ve been on the go for a while.

I did go on a snorkeling tour through Fuse Hostel. It was $44, which felt a bit steep at first, but it came with unlimited alcohol and a surprisingly decent lunch, so I’d say it’s worth it if you’re down for a fun day out on the water. The tour was more of a party boat vibe, so it’s great if you’re in the mood to meet people and just have a chill, boozy day.
Nightlife
I personally kept things lowkey while I was there, but I heard Nha Trang has a solid nightlife scene. There are plenty of karaoke bars around (they seemed everywhere), and locals told me the city gets pretty lively after dark. So if you’re craving a night out, there’s definitely potential here.
Final Thoughts
Cam Ranh and Nha Trang are great spots to take a breather during your Vietnam trip. Whether you’re craving a bit of luxury, a social hostel stay, or just some beach time, this area has you covered. Even if you don’t do much, it’s the kind of place that feels good to just be.
